Spiced Pumpkin Bread

This is a quick delicious recipe that is great this time of year!  


2 cups sifted flour 
2 teaspoons baking powder 
1/2 teaspoon baking soda 
1 teaspoon cinnamon 
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 
1/2 teaspoon salt 
1 cup canned pumpkin 
1 cup sugar 
1/2 cup milk 
2 eggs 
1/4 cup softened butter 
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans 


Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg & salt. 
Combine pumpkin, sugar, milk and eggs in a large bowl.  
Add dry ingredients and butter. Mix until well blended.  Stir in nuts. 
Spread in well buttered 9x5x3 loaf pan. 
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 50-55 minutes or until 
toothpick inserted in center comes out dry.
